Hash Brown Potato Casserole

2 pounds hashed brown potatoes -- thawed
1/2 cup margarine -- melted
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
3/4 cup chopped onion
2 cups sour cream
2 cups crushed corn flakes

Combine crushed corn flakes and 1/4 cup melted margarine and set asside. Combine remaining ingredients (make sure potatoes are completely thawed). Put into a 0 X 13 baking dish and spread corn flake mixture on top. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Serves 12.


NOTES : I love this - add diced ham and you have a one pot meal.
